Use Flow Launcher Offline: Local and Network Features

Troubleshooting · Published October 30, 2026 · Publisher: flowlauncher.app

At a glance

Flow Launcher’s local tasks and network integrations have different connectivity needs. Installed-app launching, local calculations, and a working local file index can remain useful offline. Web searches, plugin downloads, updates, and service-backed integrations require their respective network resources.

Steps to follow

  1. Prepare the app and required plugins while connected, then record the workflows you expect to use offline.
  2. Test a local app, a simple calculation, and an already-indexed local filename without relying on a remote drive.
  3. Identify plugins that contact web services and give them explicit keywords or disable them when not needed.
  4. Reconnect before checking updates or adding plugins, and treat cloud-only documents separately from files available on disk.

Check the result

The expected local workflows work without a network connection. An unavailable remote service should not be mistaken for a failure of all launcher features.

Limits and common pitfalls

Offline availability of a cloud file depends on whether its content is stored locally. A filename appearing in a list does not guarantee the document can be opened offline.

Make the check repeatable

Make an offline checklist from actual tasks rather than labeling the entire app online or offline. A folder on a disconnected network share differs from a local working directory, even when both appear in Quick Access. Keep that distinction in your troubleshooting notes.

Questions and answers

Can I install new plugins without internet access?

The usual store workflow needs access to the catalog and plugin packages. Any manual package transfer should follow the maintainer’s documented method.
